Washington State Bans Online Poker

Recently the state of Washington passed a bill to ban online poker.  It will will officially start on June 7, 2006.  Senate Bill 6613 considers this to be a Class C Felony, which entitles you to ten years in prison.

Fortunately, Washington State hasn't spent the funds to regulate this new law, which may be good news for many online poker players.  As of right now, don't expect officials to come into your house if you are playing online poker.

Lets hope that this doesn't start to spread.  We don't want to see more states pass a law similar to this.  We'll see how Washington State's new law goes over with its people.

Keep in mind that it helps to do everything you can to prevent something like this from happening in your state.  There are different poker organizations that help to fight laws like this, so don't be afraid to put your word out there.
