BetFair Poker Points

Betfair Points are offered as a part of a loyalty program aimed at keeping Betfair Poker players loyal to Betfair.  These points can be earned by playing real money cash games and tournaments at Betfair Poker and they can be used for various promotions.  It's a rewarding system because the more you play, the more points you earn.

Betfair Points can be used to enter freerolls and clear bonuses like the $600 sign up bonus.  Points you don't use each month can be used to reduce your commission on sports betting at the Betfair Casino, making it cheaper for you to bet on your favorite sports teams.

Betfair Poker has a $600 sign up bonus that is cleared by earning Betfair Points.  The bonus is released at a rate of $10 for every 400 Betfair Points you earn.  So every time you accumulate 400 Betfair Poker Points, $10 is released into your account until the full $600 has been released.  The full $600 bonus requires a grand total of 24,000 Betfair Points.  The bonus is only available for 60 days after your signup date so don't forget to get to work on it right away.

Earning Betfair Points

Betfair Points are earned in cash games based on the amount of rake paid over time.  One point is earned for every £0.05 (about $0.10) you pay in rake.  All the players who contribute to a pot during a cash game (even the blinds) are credited with Betfair Points.  It doesn't matter how much money each person contributes to the pot, all the points are divided out equally.  If 4 people play in a pot then each person would receive 1/4th of the points possible for that hand.

For example, say 3 people pay to see a flop, the small blind folds and the big blind checks.  If the pot is raked $1.00, it would be worth 10 points and each player (including the two people in the blinds) would receive 2 points.  The nice thing about this is that even though the small blind folded, he would still earn 2 points because he contributed to the pot just by posting his blind.

Players can earn points in tournaments the same way.  For every £0.05 (about $0.10) paid in rake, players earn 10 points.  For example, if you enter a $20 + $2 tournament, you would earn about 20 Betfair Poker Points and in a $50 + $5 tournament you would earn about 50 points.
