Cake Poker Review and Overview (8.7)
Cake Poker was released in 2005 with a beta version allowing players to test out this very unique poker room. The company took your standard poker room and twisted into a room allowing the most innovative rewards program to be seen online along with some great tournaments and promotions.
Since then, they have consistently provided players with massive promotions geared to tournament players like seats to the WSOP and Aussie Millions and are one of the few sites where overlay tournaments are quite common. They are a US friendly poker room. This is one of our favorite rooms, so make sure to read the rest of our Cake Poker Review.
Cake Poker Bonus and Rewards (8.6)
Cake Poker offers a 100% match up to $500 along with regular reloads. Players will earn their bonus by playing any of the real money tables or tournaments and it will be released in increments of $10 by collecting the comp points also known as frequent player points. Players will also find that Cake Poker offers the most innovative rewards program for players with the introduction of Cake Poker Gold Cards and Gold chips.
NOTE: Bonus package available only to players signing up through CoinflipPoker.com.
Gold Cards are released through regular game play at real money tables only. The Gold Cards are special rewards program with the RNG dispersing the cards based on the amount of rake collected. Once the rake reaches a certain point it will automatically provide a random player with a random card.
Players can use these in the Gold Card race as well as daily Gold Card tournaments or collect them to redeem in the Gold Card lottery or as a set of 52 cards worth $52,000. Gold Chips are earned by collecting a specific amount of FPP’s. Once you earn your required amount you will be given a gold chip which can be used in weekly tournaments or in the Cake Poker Cake Shop.

Easy Competition (9.3)
The competition in this room is still very weak at best which has to do with the room still being new. On average you can expect to see a vied flop percent of 55% at the low limit tables and especially the Omaha PL games. Players will find that the majority of the traffic is geared to Texas Holdem
Games and Traffic (8.2)
Ring games are supported in standard varieties such as Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi Lo and Stud however the room does not actually list any Stud games as of yet. Cake Poker ring games are available in micro limits starting at $0.10/$0.20 and moving up to $100/$200.
They are still considered a low stakes poker room but you should be able to find enough action in most levels up to $10/$20 NL. Since Cake is a new poker room don’t expect to see a lot of traffic consistently through the day. Overall the player base usually consists of 3500 real money players which is enough to keep games going.
Tournaments (8.5)
Tournaments are available throughout the day with Cake Poker offering some decent guaranteed payments which most days do not meet the guarantee causing an overlay to exist. They host a weekly $100,000 GP with qualifiers and satellites available. The biggest promotion right now at Cake Poker is the $1 Million Dollar Freeroll.
Cake is quite literally giving away a million dollars divided up into 10 monthly tournaments. Each of these games will hold a guaranteed payment of $100,000 and the winner in each game will be walking away with a first place prize of $75,000. Sit N Go’s are well occupied and do fill up at a decent rate during peak hours. Cake Poker supports games in the standard Texas Holdem, Omaha with formats consisting of heads up, shootouts, multi-table, shorthanded and full ring.

Software (9.0)
The software at Cake Poker is provided by the Cake Network and offers great playability, with an easy to use interface. The lobby is very easy to navigate with all your options and functions clearly marked. Players will be equipped with standard statistics like average pot size, hands per hour, and viewed flop percentages as well as chip stacks.
They also feature an additional tool that reminds you of any upcoming tournaments that are starting and how many players are registered. This gives you enough notice when an overlay is about to start.
The company has designed the software for speed and stability which is updated on a consistent basis. The only thing missing in this room is an update in graphics. Although the 3-dimensional avatars are unique they do not meet the same standards that most rooms have equipped their tables with.
Support (8.5)
Cake Poker has provided a great support team for the players with email available as your current method for reaching them. You can expect a fast reply at any time of the day.
Deposit Methods (8.7)
The current methods for depositing include; NetTeller, EPassport, Visa and Mastercard, and Moneybookers.
