Carbon Poker is one of the newest rooms available online backed by the parent company Poker.com. They offer a highly innovative software platform that quite literally stands apart from anything else in the industry. Most recently they went through an upgrade providing players with mixed games along with a few popular casino table games.

Competition (7.4)

We found the competition at this room to be very weak in all areas. They are still new and so far have attracted many low limit players who at most times will represent the 60% viewed flop percentage you will come across.

Games and Traffic (5.5)

Since Carbon Poker upgraded their site, players can now play the traditional Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi Lo, Stud, Stud Hi Lo, 5 Card Draw along with Razz, HORSE, and 2-7 Triple Lowball. You will be able to play in full ring games, shorthanded and heads up with each game supporting the respective limits.

The stakes available start as low as $0.02/$0.04 and is capped at $50/$100 although as of now the room attracts mostly low limit players. You won’t find much action beyond the $3/$6 limits. Carbon takes the standard 5% rake from each hand up to a maximum of $3 per pot and supports the no flop no drop rule.

Tournaments (5.2)

The tournaments featured include plenty of freerolls with a new one scheduled every few hours. The schedule includes many low limit guaranteed tournaments with prize pools consisting of a couple thousand. The largest guaranteed prizes are available on the weekends with a $10,000 and $20,000 available. Both of these games can be entered with a direct buy-in or you can win your seat playing sit and go satellites.

Each of the poker games available in the ring tables have tournaments with buy-ins starting as low as $1 up to a couple hundred. One of the things I do like about this room is the playing field in the tournaments is on the low end, resulting in frequent overlays. Once you become a regular player you will also be able to enter daily freerolls with prize pools of $1000 by earning the required comp points.

Software (8.3)

The software is amazing and really is one of a kind. The graphics are completely unique from any of the other rooms you have come across and the first thing you will notice is the smilies. These are animated emoticons that are available in any ring or tournament. When typing certain words into chat they will appear.

Other unique features include the ability to show one or two or your hole cards, and an instant message system in place to notify you when a player comes online. Multi tabling is available however this can only be used in full screen or cascading tiles.

All of your game statics and table stats are provided in an easy to read format. Players should note that although Carbon does support hand history data, you will not be able to access it unless you choose to have the program save it first. Otherwise all data is deleted once you log off the client.

They have a great team of support on hand with access to both email and live chat available daily. You can usually expect a response within 30 min through email and live chat is almost instant.
