Duplicate Poker is a fairly new room that’s changing the way people play poker online.  This room is built with focus based on the skill of the game instead of just the luck factor.  They are also the only poker room that players can legally play with real money within the United States.

How Duplicate Poker Works

As mentioned above, this site is focused on skill rather than luck.  It follows the exact same rules as Texas Holdem, with a few exceptions.  To start, players will always be watching two or more tables with the same number of players seated at each. 

Hands are dealt by an identically-shuffled deck that is be made available at each table.  This means any player (for example) sitting in seat 2 will receive the same cards as players sitting at the other tables in seat 2 as well. 

All of the tables and players will also see the exact same community cards.  Players receive the same amount of chips, and as the hands play out, the site will then give “points” to those who have the highest amount of chips at the end of each hand. 

Instead of playing against the other players at your table, you're actually technically competing against all the other players who are sitting at your seat at different tables.

Games and Traffic (4.0)

As of right now, the only games offered at Duplicate Poker are Texas Holdem.  However, they are offered in such popular variations as No Limit, Pot Limit, and Fixed Limit.

Traffic is a big problem at the site.  It takes a while for games to get going, plus they are always at the lowest of stakes.  Rake is once again set at 5% of the pot, with the “no flop, no drop” rule always in place at Duplicate Poker.

Software (6.0)

In addition to the uniqueness of play at Duplicate Poker, the site also offers a decent user interface. The graphics are still rough around the edges.  Duplicate Poker tends to lag a bit when you navigate through the lobby, but overall the site moves at a very fast pace when you actually sit in for a session. 

The only real downside is that you’ll have to wait a few extra seconds while play finishes at the other tables.   Though the site is still in its developmental stages, it definitely provides a very fun and different playing experience for the customer.

At the moment, Duplicate Poker only offers telephone and email support in regards to player inquiries and general questions.  The customer service staff will normally get back to you quickly.  The wait time for a representative is minimal at best.
