Another Co-Sponsor for IGREA Bill

Representative Barney Frank has received yet another co-sponsor this week for his Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act. This week Representative Ellen Tauscher signed on with her support.

She is from California and in her sixth term in the House of Representatives. Tauscher is a Democrat and serves on the Armed Services Committee and the Transportation Infrastructure Committee.

Tauscher voted against the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in 2006 and continues her disagreement with the bill by sponsoring the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act. With Tauscher’s signing on it now makes the list of supporters up to 45.

Tauscher’s sponsorship comes on the heels of three other co-signers last week. Representatives Robert Andrews, a Democrat from New Jersey, Adam Smith, a Democrat from Washington , and John Larson, a Democrat from Connecticut all signed on as co-signers of the IGREA bill last week.

The bill has slowly but surely been picking up steam. It seems every week more Representatives are signing on to help support the bill. If your state representative is not on the list of supporters you can contact their local office via email, phone or mail and let them know your thoughts and maybe they too will sign on to support the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act. If it is passed it would overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
