Second Best Hands In Limit Hold'em
Many new limit Hold'em players like to play many hands even when out of position. Also, they have no problem calling raises with hands they shouldn't be playing. The reason this is such a problem, is because these hands have high probabilities of becoming second best hands.
Some common second best hands are A10, AJ, KQ, KJ, KT, QJ, and Q10. Many players like to play these hands because they look good and are high cards. However, the problem is that they often become second best hands, which cost a lot of money.

The common scenario that happens is a player in early position will raise with a hand such as AK, then a poor player in late position will call with a hand like KJ. If a K falls on the flop, the player with KJ is likely to lose a lot of money, because they have a nice hand, but not the best hand.
Now, even though you shouldn't play these hands for a raise or in early position, if you're in late position and no one has shown strength then you should still play them, because it's likely no one has a premium hand.
