Taking Notes on The Opposition

Taking notes on the players that you play with can translate into more money. Basically every poker room gives you the option to take notes on your competition. If you take even a few small notes on each player it not only helps you to know what your up against, but it also helps you to focus on the table quite a bit more.

There are just a few quick notes that you can take in order to help your chances at the table.

1. Loose or tight player? – What kind of hands to they play pre-flop?

2. Are they easily bluffed?

3. Do they bet on draws?

4. Do they call very much on draws?

5. Do they like to check-raise?

6. Do they only call if they have a pair or better?

7. Do they defend their blinds?

You don’t need to note all of these, but anything from the list that you notice you opposition doing, keep a note on it. It may save as little as a few blinds, or it may save you quite a bit of bluff money. Regardless of what it is, your decisions will be a bit easier if you have a note or two on your competition.
